Workday Report for week of August 22, 2011, from Paul Neufeld:

We had a good workday on Saturday before school started! As nearly as we can count there were about 25 bodies there, at the peak. I had made up a list of things to do before starting and Kendall presented me with another one about 9 on Saturday, and we were able to complete all of the items listed on both!

In addition to installing the drinking fountain, we washed or swept the stucco walls on the buildings, trimmed trees and bushes, cut down weeds, edged and mowed lawns, installed a new panic bar in the preschool, changed light tubes in the classrooms, blew off the sidewalks and basketball courts, washed the patio area and eating tables, washed windows, cleaned the kitchen, set up the lunch room, raked leaves, loosened the sand in the preschool play area, painted a sprinkler valve cover, took down a fence in the preschool area, put safety straps on the preschool water coolers, wired the new copier into the computer system, organized the computer lab, and ate donuts.
We could always use more bodies but it all worked out. I am especially pleased that we completed the drinking fountain on the outside of the preschool. We are still working on getting the window screens on the preschool repaired. Come take a look--I think you will be impressed with the condition of the buildings and grounds.

Help Needed: It's my turn to mow the play field this coming Saturday, August 27, but I won't be here. I am looking for someone to fill in. The vacuum trailer needs to be hooked up and pulled along. The mowing should be done east to west. Have fun shoveling all the grass into the dumpster! Please call the school if you'd like to volunteer!
